Institucional

In its 51 years of existence, more than 18,628 days of continuous operation, have been transformed over 30,000 lives through projects and work undertaken with the excellence of a responsible social institution and it is also a reference in the Third Sector. The Missão Ramacrisna was founded In 1959 by the Professor Arlindo da Silva Corrêa. That time he was already worried about the poor children future, perceiving education as the best way to prevent social problems such as delinquency, abandonment, violence, etc.. As an idealist, the Professor Arlindo began its work in Belo Horizonte, taking street children to their own home. Soon began to look elsewhere, as space has become inadequate. Motivated by the ease of finding cheap property, he left Belo Horizonte to go to Betim, a town 50 km far from Belo Horizonte. With the contribution of friends he bought some plots and in 1960 began the construction of buildings. In 1963 he inaugurated the 1st building and in the following year the second. This one served as a boarding school until the year of 1992. From there on he started supporting the residents of nearby neighborhoods which were already well populated and non-existent by the time Ramacrisna got to the region. There has been 51 years of social work development. The Missão Ramacrisna was created with the aim of promoting social welfare, education, professional training, culture, ecological awareness, entertainment and sports for children and adolescents in vulnerable situations, including residents of periphery neighborhoods and rural area of Betim city. In parallel to this work, Ramacrisna works with families, warning them about their responsibilities to their children education and preparation for life. The Ramacrisna is a nonprofit social institution, and is always looking for new partners so that the projects can be developed with excellence and meeting the needs of the benefited people.
