CAER - Centro de Apoio Educacional Ramacrina (Ramacrisna's Educational Support Center)

New Horizons means a project that integrates art, culture and education. Through it, 486 children and adolescents who are between 6-17 years old are assisted. They are students from five publics schools who lives in the rural region of Betim were they have available an adequate infrastructure for learning including classrooms, computerized library with broadband internet access, Cafe, auditorium with 200 seats, a sports field, playground, beyond vegetable garden, orchard and a large green area. Teachers provided by the Education Office in Betim, help children and adolescents in the morning and afternoon shifts with subjects like Portuguese, Mathematics and English. The students also learn the basic education such as hygiene and citizenship. To complement the young people's and children's education , there are Arts and Environment workshops, also Toys Construction and Chess Workshops, Sports training, Computer and Internet Courses. In addition, the project's participants have the opportunity to integrate cultural groups such as the Ramacrisna's String-band and Choral singers. All students receive school supplies during the full year, including clothing, footwear, and good quality food.
